Things I’d like to do before I Kick the Bucket

Thank you so much for your comments on the layout. I’m glad you guys liked it. Those of you who loved the illustration of the owl, that was all Brent, so credit goes to him for making it for me <3

Speaking of Brent (really this blog should just be renamed to BrentThisAndThat.com), he just wrote a post where he listed 101 things he'd like to do before he dies. I'm not as patient or creative, so I'm thinking my list will be 3/4th's of his. Here goes nothing.

  1. Become financially independent
  2. Backpack through Europe
  3. Finish College
  4. Learn how to cook a decent meal
  5. Eat Healthier and Exercise (Because being a fatass is getting old.)
  6. Learn sign language
  7. Go on a Road Trip
  8. Donate blood
  9. Recycle
  10. Learn how to play the guitar
  11. Write a song
  12. Read all of Jane Austen’s novels
  13. Paint
  14. Volunteer at an animal shelter
  15. Learn how to change a tire
  16. Submit a poem to a poetry contest
  17. Build a home for someone less fortunate
  18. Watch a flamenco dance in Spain
  19. Fly a plane
  20. Write a will
  21. Send a secret to Postsecret
  22. Take a dance class
  23. See Wicked on Broadway
  24. Read the Lord of the Rings trilogy
  25. Go to a Harry Potter convention (Shh)
  26. Swim with a dolphin
  27. Learn how to change the oil in my car
  28. See Cirque du Soleil
  29. Buy a white iMac
  30. Talk to more people
  31. Have my own star
  32. Live in a small town where I can ride a bike everywhere
  33. See the sunrise and the sunset in one day
  34. Get a tattoo
  35. Have a meaningful relationship
  36. Glide on a gondola through Venice
  37. Dance with a stranger
  38. Grow and maintain a garden
  39. Learn to sew
  40. Invest
  41. Sell my car and buy another
  42. Learn how to play poker
  43. … and gamble in Vegas
  44. Visit the Louvre
  45. Prepare for zombies
  46. See Kimya Dawson in concert
  47. Get my palm read
  48. Ride a horse again
  49. Work, not because I have to, but because I love to
  50. Participate in a Human Rights protest

I think fifty is pretty good considering I just thought of these right now. I really want to get to 100, so I’ll most likely do a part two.

P.S. The View All Archives and View All Categories work now, I’m working on implementing a search form, and I moved the Elsewhere Links from the extras page to the links page.

I want to do a lot of these too. The iMac is probably #1 on my list, because, duh, Apple rocks, and my iBook just isn’t enough. (I’m greedy!) I also really want to learn how to play the electric guitar, but I’ve tried before, and my experience with the cello screws me up. (It should help me, but I just get confused.) And I TOTALLY agree about Kimya Dawson. She’s awesome.

I want to go to a Harry Potter convention. See if I can meet somebody with the last name of ‘Potter’ and have fanatic children too.

... OK, maybe not.

Nice list. :P

Oooh, I love this lost. I’d especially bow down to you if you manage #49 because I think that’s what everyone searches for, but ultimately don’t manage to find…

lost = list.

*smacks self*

LOL #25 HP Convention totally sounds like me. I’d like to backpack through Europe in my 2nd or 3rd year of university, that is, if I can make it past paying $40k for the first year.

This layout is making me not want to leave your site =D

I like the sound of your list, actually. :) #12 would be quite a feat, you’re into the whole Regency England thing?

And OOOH, #28. I’ve heard they’re amazing when it’s live - like you could cut the air with a knife in the silence before the show begins.

Oh that’s an awesome list. I’m so with #5 (I’m such a fat ass haha) #10 and #34! I doubt I’d have the guts to go through with a tattoo, but I’d like to think :P. Good luck on these Sarai!

Great list. I sort of agree with number 29, but change it to macbook and it would be good.

Love the site and layout!

So many things? Wow… mine would be a list of 5 ... or well 10 at most. I guess I must lead an extremely boring life then… or well have extremely boring expectations from it at any rate :P

I thought I’d already left you a comment on this, but it seems I only imagined I did!
Have you heard of 101 things to do in 1001 days? It’s a website/meme/personal development project that seems like it’d fit pretty well with what you’re doing here. I started mine in June last year, and I’m still going, which for me, is impressive, since I get bored pretty easily!
:P
