About Me

My name is Sarai (sur-eye). Call me Sarah, Ciara, Saudi, Sorry, or anything else that doesn't even resemble my name and I will not call you friend. I am twenty years old and currently trying not to fail at this Being An Adult thing. I'm also participating in the 28 Books in 2008 challenge to add to my overwhelming Nerd resume.

I try my best to keep things simple and succint. I can be very impulsive, I don't take myself too seriously, I have no energy for hate or grudges, and while I'm at it I guess I should let you know I detest monotony and most people. As far as religion goes, I'm really into the Buddhist philosophy. It works just fine for me.

I'm passionate about justice. I'm very opinionated (on almost every topic, it seems) and try my best to be well-read. I strongly believe in human rights, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, economic status, or religion. I challenge those who make others feel inferior and usually I'm not very nice about it. I believe in acceptance, not tolerance. I stand up for what is right and fuck the rest.

In the future I plan to continue with my useless major in History (with possibly a minor in Polical Science), but I might end up just vagabonding through life with my soulmate instead. As much as I love history and politics, the latter is just too good to pass up so I'll probably end up doing just that, shacking it up in a tent in some remote desert in Kenya, living off maggots and finding amusement in humping the leg of a giraffe or something. Life is too short, and I aim to spend it doing what I love, with the people I love. Here's more stuff I plan on doing before I kick the bucket.

About the Site

Chiklita is a nickname given to me by a friend. It's pronounced chee-klee-tuh, and that's all you really care to know. I used to blog on Livejournal, where I updated pretty regularly until I finally grew some balls and put up a personal site again (I've had some issues in the past where my website decides to die). It's still up, so you can check it out for old posts and such if you'd like.

This site is graciously hosted by Neonglow.net. It is Valid CSS, and would be Valid XHTML Strict if the Twitter badge wasn't a nightmare. I'm learning to deal.
